Money Saving Tips: Discount Eating At Chick-fil-A

Chick-fil-A Is My Family’s Not So Secret Indulgence

We love the fact that our local Chick-fil-A feels like a part of the community, and that they offer great customer service. Sometimes though it is hard to eat out on a budget. But just because you have a budget doesn’t mean you can’t treat yourself every once in a while. Fortunately, I have found ways to save money while eating at Chick-fil-A. Some of them you might already know about, and some of them you might not. Below are ways my family saves money while eating at Chick-fil-A, and yours can too. You can even combine offers and pay almost nothing for a night out with your significant other and kids.

P.S.

I have updated this post. Chick-Fil-A stopped producing the Cow Calendar in 2018, and I believe some Chick-Fil-A locations stopped participating in the Chicken Coop Cell Phone Challenge.

How to save money at chick-fil-a

Chick-fil-A One App

Did you know Chick-fil-A has an app? If you did not, and you eat at Chick-fil-A, you should really download it. Every time you eat at Chick-fil-A you have them scan your bar code and you accrue “points” towards free food. After a certain number of visits, you will be eligible for free fries, free drink, and also free sandwiches. Be careful though. The free food offers do have expiration dates and if you do not redeem them in time your free food will be gone. If you also sign up for your local Chick-Fil-A’s email list they also offer specials if you order via the app. (Example: I will get emails letting me know if I mobile order on Monday I will have a free 8 piece nugget sent to my app to use later.)

Free Sandwich Coupons on Receipts

If you order from Chick-fil-A often enough you have probably seen a free sandwich coupon on your receipt. Sometimes a free sandwich coupon will print out on your Chick-fil-A receipt in exchange for completing a survey. The survey is pretty short and a free original chicken sandwich is totally worth the 2 minutes it takes to fill it out. I have noticed that I receive far less free sandwich survey coupon’s when using the Chick-fil-A App, but for me that’s OK. You can also use the free sandwich coupon in conjunction with the app, and calendar card.

Free Food Coupons in the Mail

I really think Chick-fil-A is a marketing pro. Some Chick-fil-A’s do a marketing blast a couple of times a year where they send out free food coupons in the mail to those living in/near the community where the Chick-fil-A is located. These coupons will be for free breakfast items, and sometimes sandwiches. They may be only good for certain Chick-fil-A’s, but hey free food! Like above it these can also be used in conjunction with the app and calendar card.

Kid’s Night where Kids Eat Free

Now that I am a mom one of the big reason’s I love going to our local Chick-fil-A is because of what they do for kids. My daughter loves to eat, interact with the staff, and then go to their play area.  The awesome thing is Chick-fil-A’s have a kid’s night every week from 5pm-7pm where they have activities for kids, and also kids receive a free kid’s meal. The days and activities vary by location. These nights can be hectic, but if you get there early enough and grab a table it’s not so bad. Make sure to use your app, and any other coupons you may have for a highly-discounted family night out. Also, if your child receives a toy they already have in their meal they can go exchange it for an Icedream sweet treat!

Cell Phone Coop

I am not sure if many Chick-Fil-A’s are participating in this challenge anymore, but it doesn’t hurt to ask! Some Chick-fil-A’s are participating in the Cell phone coop challenge. The challenge is for families to not use their cell phones during dinner. This is done by asking for a cell phone coop at the counter, everyone putting their cell phones in the coop during dinner, and if you successfully complete the challenge everyone receives a free Icedream cone for dessert.

This is Awesome! Not just because you get free food after completing the challenge, but because Chick-fil-A is trying to fight off a growing trend, use of technology during dinner, that is taking away family time during dinner. Dinner is supposed to be a time for families to talk about their day and any other issues they have. The use of TV’s and Cell phones during dinner is eliminating this family conversation time.

Sports Team Days

During different sports seasons, Chick-fil-A’s will have free sandwich days where if you come in sporting a certain team’s logo you will get a free sandwich. For our local Chick-fil-A, it is usually for our local baseball team. Again, make sure to use your app, calendar card, and any other coupons you have.

Cow Appreciation Day

Every year Chick-fil-A has a cow appreciation day where you get a free sandwich if you go into a Chick-fil-A dressed up like a cow. This day can be very hectic and busy, but for me, it is quite entertaining to see everyone all dressed up. As always make sure to use your app, calendar card, and coupons to enjoy a highly discounted or free meal.

Charitable Giving

During the holiday’s my local Chick-Fil-A participates in Operation Christmas Child by Samaritan’s Purse. For every shoebox, you return filled with toys, gloves, and other necessities a child would need my Chick-Fil-A gives out 1 free sandwich card. My children and I have participated for the last three years, and we plan on continuing this tradition.

If you love Chick-fil-A as much as my family does make sure to give your local Chick-fil-A some love by letting them know how great of a job they are doing. Happy Saving!
