Disney’s Maleficent: Mistress of Evil Trailer Reaction
Disney is releasing a sequel to their 2014 movie, Maleficent. On October 18, 2019 Maleficent: Mistress of Evil will hit theaters. (Just in time for Halloween.) Below is my reaction to the latest trailer.
My Reaction
So, I had three reactions to this trailer. My first was how the trailer for Disney’s Maleficent: Mistress of Evil already looks better than the first movie. Hands down. In 2014 when Maleficent came out I did not have a feeling of “Oh! I need to go see this in the theater.” It was more of a wait till it came out to rent feeling. The Maleficent: Mistress of Evil trailer though has me giddy with excitement to see it on the big screen.
My second reaction was “Oh Man! Maleficent goes to meet the in-laws, and Aurora’s soon to be mother in-law is Michelle Pfeiffer. This is going to be good!” Hahaha! I know Maleficent isn’t truly Aurora’s mother, but she is her Godmother, and fills that role.
My third reaction had me wondering who is the actual “villian” in the movie. Is it Maleficent, Michelle Pfeiffer, or someone else? It looks like it will be an interesting dive into further self-discovery, and family dynamics for Maleficent.

Synopsis:
The years have been kind to Maleficent and Aurora. Their relationship, born of heartbreak, revenge and ultimately love, has flourished. Yet the hatred between man and the fairies still exists. Aurora’s impending marriage to Prince Phillip is cause for celebration in the kingdom of Ulstead and the neighboring Moors, as the wedding serves to unite the two worlds. When an unexpected encounter introduces a powerful new alliance, Maleficent and Aurora are pulled apart to opposing sides in a Great War, testing their loyalties and causing them to question whether they can truly be family.
