So, all of these new releases to digital have been a godsend for us. Now you can add 20th Century Studios’ THE CALL OF THE WILD to the must watch list! It is now available to buy digitally and on Movies Anywhere in the U.S. for $14.99. I will definitely be watching with my husband while my kids do/play with the coloring and activity sheets! You can click HERE to download The Call of The Wild Coloring and Activity Sheets! They include bookmarks, coloring pages, maze, spot the difference, animal tracks, and board game! (I highly suggest printing out the bookmarks and board game on card stock.)
Is the movie kid-friendly?
I just want parents to be aware that The Call of The Wild, even though rated PG, is a sad story, and may not be appropriate for very young kids. You can read my trailer reaction HERE. (Did you remember reading it in school?) But, it would be a great movie to watch with older kids while the younger ones do The Call of The Wild coloring and activity sheets. If you are looking for another activity for your older kids, have them read the book, watch the movie, and then talk about the differences!
Movie Synopsis
Adapted from the novel by Jack London, it vividly brings to the screen the story of Buck, a big-hearted dog whose blissful domestic life is turned upside down when he is suddenly uprooted from his California home and transplanted to the exotic wilds of the Canadian Yukon during the Gold Rush of the 1890s. As the newest rookie on a mail delivery dog sled team–and later its leader–Buck experiences the adventure of a lifetime, ultimately finding his true place in the world and becoming his own master.
