My Trollhunters: Rise Of The Titans Movie Review

If you have kids who are not old enough to watch Marvel’s Avengers then Trollhunters is a really good substitute. (It has a lot of parallels.) All of the series have, friendship, action, adventure, comedy, and heroes saving the day. But when it comes to a story that is loved by many people and has been on for such a long time it can be daunting to come to the end. Finding a way to wrap up the characters’ stories that will do the characters justice, and give peace to the fans is hard. But that is what Trollhunters: Rise Of The Titans is and does. It’s the ending of a fantastic story, but the writers somehow end it so perfectly that it also gives hope for a future. I cannot tell you how many TV Shows are ruined by terrible endings. (Game of Thrones. *Cough Cough*) That doesn’t happen to Trollhunters: Rise Of The Titans.

Now, is the movie perfect? No. Some of the dialog is corny, and the movie comes across as slightly rushed. But what you get is an edge-of-your-seat heartfelt love letter to the series and to the characters. (Seriously, some super fans may cry during this movie.) There is action and comedy from start to finish, and we get to see our favorite characters kicking butt together. I loved watching Jim (Emile Hirsch) and Toby (Charlie Saxton) and really loved how their stories ended. (No spoilers here!) Beyond the friendships Trollhunters: Rise Of The Titans brings the action. The action fight scenes are amazing, and I am a huge fan of the Gun Robot vs. Titan scene. (It will have you on your feet cheering.) So, how would I rate Trollhunters: Rise Of The Titans?

My Rating

As you can tell I thoroughly enjoyed Trollhunters: Rise Of The Titans and give it a B+. While it has slight faults it is a great ending to a great show! I highly recommend it if you have kids who are into Sci-Fi. Are you a fan of Trollhunters? Let me know in the comments what you think of the ending.

Parents Guide

Just like Tales of Arcadia, Wizards, and 3Below, Trollhunters: Rise Of The Titans is rated TV-Y7. While there is no adult language in the film there is a lot of peril, animated violence, and scary images/scenes. I would definitely suggest following Netflix’s age rating.

Movie Synopsis

Following the events of the Tales of Arcadia trilogy, the heroes of Arcadia must band together to protect humanity from the evil Arcane Order, who wield their dark and uncontrollable magic to summon ancient Titans that threaten to destroy the world.
