My Paw Patrol: The Movie Review
We are huge Paw Patrol fans, and Paw Patrol: The Movie did not disappoint. The movie actually surprised me and exceeded my expectations. The animation, story, and characters work so well together that the movie had my kids and me rolling with laughter, and my kids have asked to watch it every day since we screened it.
The animation
There are a lot of movies that are being made into live-action movies now, and Paw Patrol is not the kind of show that would have looked good as a live-action movie. So the animation used for the movie is the right call and it is beautiful, vibrant, and brings the characters to life. Personally, it is actually going to be hard to watch the Paw Patrol TV show with the old animation, because the animation in the new movie is that good.
The story and Characters
Paw Patrol: The Movie is the perfect movie for kids. It is a wholesome movie but brings all of the feels when it comes to the characters. We are introduced to a new character, Liberty, and she has now become my youngest’s favorite character. So many kids are going to love Liberty and her upbeat, happy, and determined personality.
But the main focus of the movie is really on the pup Chase and his struggles with his past in Adventure City. Chase’s story helps to teach kids it’s ok to ask for help, take a rest, and to talk about what is bothering them. We also get to see the rest of the Paw Patrol team as they help their friends. As well as helping to save Adventure City. If you have a favorite pup you will see them in action with new vehicles, and with some pretty funny jokes. (Especially Rubble, and we learn how the Ryder affords all of the Paw Patrol buildings and vehicles. Haha!)
My Rating
As you can tell we loved the movie, and cannot wait to see it again. But the movie is limited in its audience. If you are not a fan of Paw Patrol, or you do not have young kids the movie may not interest you. You may find it boring. If you are a fan of Paw Patrol you will love the movie. Because of this, I give Paw Patrol: The Movie a C+. BUT! If you have young kids Paw Patrol is the perfect summer movie for them. (It is rated G, and does contain some peril but not a lot.) It may even spark a love of Paw Patrol in them!
